Avoiding Asda phone, text and email scams
Follow these simple tips to avoid text and email scams that claim to come from a supermarket.
- Don't click on any links on emails or texts that purport to come from a supermarket about online orders or deliveries. If you are not expecting a delivery, it's probably a scam. If you are expecting a delivery, go to the supermarket's website instead and login. This way you will know you're not on a spoof website.
- You should also never open any attachments on emails or reply with any personal information to texts or emails that appear to come from a supermarket.
- If you get a text or email claiming you've won a prize draw or other promotion that you don't remember entering, it's probably going to be a scam. If you're not sure, contact the supermarket directly using the contact information on their website. Again, don't click on any links.
